Who we Need
VVC seeks an experienced Marketing Manager who will play a critical role in driving Fordham University’s recruitment efforts, with a particular focus on attracting and engaging military-connected students, including veterans, active-duty service members, and military families. The successful candidate will work to enhance The Office of Military and Veterans’ Services (OMVS) visibility and branding while creating compelling content and strategic campaigns to recruit new military students, fostering their success, and supporting their journey through higher education.
Summary of Duties
Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies focused on recruiting military-connected students, ensuring alignment with the Fordham’s enrollment goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with key staff at various military installations, coordinating ad placement logistics, merchandise replenishment, event logistics and updates/maintenance as required
Lead digital marketing campaigns specifically designed to reach military students, utilizing platforms such as social media, Google Ads, and targeted email marketing to increase visibility and drive recruitment
Build landing pages and implement web traffic tracking for all relevant campaigns
Manage and grow the university’s social media presence for veterans and dependents, creating engaging content that speaks directly to military audiences and promotes military student programs
Track and measure the success of military recruitment campaigns and communication initiatives, providing regular reports to leadership on progress, outcomes, and areas for improvement
Use data-driven insights to refine messaging, identify new opportunities, and adjust strategies to effectively reach military-connected students
Create engaging and relevant content and graphics to be used in paid and organic marketing efforts
Work collaboratively with Fordham’s existing marketing and communications and enrollment teams
Carefully manage and maintain budgets for all of the above
Requirements
Significant experience doing digital marketing, digital communications, and affiliated work
Experience working with personnel on military installations, ideally in communications
Experience collaborating with departmental and cross-functional colleagues in a range of university settings
Proficient skills and working knowledge of cloud-based and computer software systems including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and team communication applications
Ability to work in the U.S.
Bachelor’s degree required
Direct connection to the military strongly preferred
Salary
$80,000 - $90,000
Location
Hybrid
Some travel to military installations and other military-connected locations in the surrounding regional area is likely

Who we Need
VVC seeks an experienced individual with a strong admissions background and/or enrollment coach expertise to serve veteran and dependent students at the Office of Military and Veterans’ Services (OMVS) within Fordham University.
Summary of Duties
Provide 1:1 coaching to veterans and dependents from the moment they are admitted to the university and throughout their academic lifecycle
Runs orientation events to provide expert onboarding advice, and manages onboarding communications for new students based on a deep understanding of the steps required for students to receive military/veteran benefits and related services
Provide recommendations and advice to help military connected students successfully enter or re-enter an academic environment to include coaching them to a strong start at Fordham University in an effort to drive first term student success and retention
Help students troubleshoot onboarding problems while serving as an advocate and liaison within the university
Manage a growing volume of assigned students to include remaining aware of those with signs of high risk justifying added attention and support
Prioritize, and when needed, escalate students showing signs of high risk to your manager and to appropriate university and pre-vetted applicable resources to support their short and long term success
Collaborate with colleagues to design standard onboarding plans for veteran students, then stand up the systems and curriculum required to support them
Identify and implement ongoing improvements as the military connected student community grows
Identify opportunities for professional development
Requirements
Significant prior experience as an admission advisor, enrollment and/or success coach in a university setting, ideally working with U.S. military veterans
Mission-minded commitment to positive outcomes for veterans and their families
Excellent people skills, ability to collaborate and solve problems
Experience recording and sharing your work with students via a CRM
Prior experience formally mentoring and developing others
A systems thinking orientation, with a desire to build new ones
Ability to work in the U.S.
Proficient skills and working knowledge of cloud-based and computer software systems including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and team communication applications
Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred
Direct connection to the military strongly preferred

Who we Need
VVC seeks a communications lead to tell the story and promote the Office of Military and Veterans’ Services (OMVS) at Fordham University. In this role, you will:
Develop and execute content marketing strategies, including planning, creation, and distribution of relevant, engaging content to attract and retain military-affiliated student target audience
Create and maintain a public website (microsite)
Maintain an SEO-focused blog feed that helps drive organic reach
Create and maintain energetic digital community spaces on social media like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn based on social media marketing best practices and engagement strategy
Promote, repurpose and measure all content marketing efforts
Secure necessary subscriptions to media tools and cloud-based applications to provide the services outlined above
Create and optimize content assets (e.g., articles, videos, infographics) and manage their promotion across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and measuring performance to make data-driven adjustments
Work in collaboration with the marketing manager to support communications efforts
Produce creative assets for, host, and coordinate on-campus and digital events
Host informative webinars & information sessions to support marketing, enrollment, and student success efforts
Write, edit, and publish a monthly military student newsletter
Work with contracted partners to publish an Annual Report
Collaborate with team members within OMVS and with staff/faculty at Fordham University across all functions to ensure a seamless approach to supporting students
Leverage analytics and assess the latest trends to enhance & develop the growth of the student veteran community with an approach anchored in continuous improvement & innovation
Report systematically on your work and its results
Report to the Director of Military & Veteran Higher Education Engagement & Transition at Fordham University
Requirements
Significant experience as a communications manager, content marketer, digital community manager, and/or social media manager
Demonstrated creativity and editorial expertise
Ability to prepare and execute a strategy as part of a distributed team
Experience leveraging major social network platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and video-dominant platforms
Mission-minded commitment to veterans and their families
Demonstrated strength in writing and comfort with public speaking
Ability to interpret website traffic and social media engagement metrics and utilize findings to drive ongoing improvements
Ability to work in the U.S.
Flexibility to work some evenings when classes are in session
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Prior military service and/or demonstrated service to the military community in a communications capacity
Experience working within a university context, in particular, familiarity with Fordham University and its associated colleges
Bachelor’s degree in communications and/or marketing or relevant work experience
Familiarity with Slack, Microsoft Teams and/or similar communication and scheduling platforms
Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress and Squarespace
Location

$105,000 - $115,00
